Dagestan: power agents search relatives of Jennet Abdurakhmanova

A special operation is on in the village of Stary Kostek, Khasavyurt District of Dagestan. Power agents are searching relatives of Jennet Abdurakhmanova, suspected of committing a suicidal terror act on March 29 at Park Kultury Moscow metro station.

According to villagers, the operation of federal forces, presumably, special agencies, is conducted by armoured machinery and about two hundred soldiers. The village is surrounded, and access roads are blocked.

Under unofficial information, the family of Jennet Abdurakhmanova lives in Stary Kostek. According to eyewitnesses of the events, her family members were interrogated. However, the woman, who was considered to be Jennet's mother, said that Jennet was not her daughter. The woman gave her blood for DNA analysis.

Local residents are shocked with what happens in the village. They say that special agents search their houses in search of militants, and people are afraid of detentions and subsequent torture.

"Even we, human rights activists, have difficulties with getting detailed information. Power agents have blocked all the roads to this village, cellular communication is tapped, people are afraid to talk, and everyone keeps silent. Even if a person is only suspected of terrorism, all his relatives may be liquidated," local human rights activist Mamat Baisultanov said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
