People came to Lubyanka Square to commemorate victims of metro terror acts

In the evening on March 29, in the Lubyanka Square, near the Mayakovsky Museum, an action in memory of victims of March 29 metro explosions took place. It was organized by an initiative group of citizens. As reported by Anton Dolidyonok, one of the organizers, the idea to commemorate the casualties appeared about the afternoon. They bought candles, printed out photos of the tragedy from the Internet, and placed an announcement in their blogs. Internet-users are not just condoling with casualties' relatives and victims, but also discuss the topic of responsibility for the committed terror acts.

Memory action in Lubyanka Square

"We did not expect so many people to come; moreover, we had announced the action just a couple of hours before it. Anyhow, we're so glad that people have reacted," Anton Dolidyonok told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Among those who came to pay tribute to memory of the victims, there were a well-known singer Diana Gurtskaya, politician Boris Nemtsov, leaders and activists of various social movements. In total, there were about one hundred and fifty persons at the Mayakovsky Museum.

Pavel, a participant of the action: "This problem can't be solved by toughening the police regime and restricting the freedoms of citizens; other efficient measures are required."

Russia's problem is that special agencies are at power, Boris Nemtsov believes. "KGB-men (security agents) rule the country; therefore, they shall respond for what's going on. Besides, Putin came to power on the wave of combating terror. Ten years have passed; and we see this nightmare again: the tragedy rushes into our houses. It's obvious that no conclusions are made; the person is unfit to get along. And now, highly regretfully, nobody will respond for anything - neither Bortnikov, head of the FSB, nor Nurgaliev, head of the MIA, nor Putin," said the politician.

"Where were our valorous special services when the terror acts had been prepared? In view of the fact that special agencies' budget has grown 14-fold in the last decade! The ones for public health and education are frozen, but the budget of special services is higher and higher. The people have the right to ask them: where's our safety? But now they are not going to answer to anybody, as elections are demolished in the country," Boris Nemtsov said.

According to his story, the only hope is now on human solidarity. "The fact that so many people have come here today means that they have compassion, that we are ready to help each other and stand together not only when everything is OK, but also when everything is bad."

Mr Nemtsov is convinced that the authorities will benefit from metro explosions and try to still more strengthen their position. "Now it is favourable to government to bring down a wave of meetings and the national discontent, going on all country. Under a pretext of struggle against terror the authority will struggle with meetings, with demonstrators. I think that from this at them nothing will turn out, but will try," the politician concluded.

Internet-users discuss responsibility for committed terror acts

The author of the Internet-diary in the "Caucasian Knot" BERG...man Tbilisi asks on what should be done. "There should be different ways... It is clear that an ordinary Russian can admire the phrase 'to crack terrorists down in toilets,' but it doesn't solve a problem... After the 'Nord-Ost', the Russian society had no broad discussions of the event, but in reality the state then treated people like cattle...," the BERG... man Tbilisi wrote.

"I pity ordinary people very much!! But the Kremlin will make no conclusions, I'm almost sure," wrote the user under the nick beson.

Alan Tskhurbaev writes that Russia has no plans, except for tough suppression of the underground in Northern Caucasus.

Another user of the discussion under the nick hunter thinks that "a response blow will now follow," and "in the majority, innocent people will suffer as always."
