Russian media to bring action on "Imedi" for using their video materials

Russian information resources will go to court against the "Imedi" TV Channel for the illegal, in their opinion, use of their materials in the scandalous report about alleged invasion of Russian troops into Georgia and assassination of President Saakashvili.

The greater part of the "Imedi" programme was compiled of the materials, taken from Russian information resources without their permit, as the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.

In particular, materials were borrowed from the "Vremya" programme of Channel One and the Internet portal "Lifenews.ru".

According to the "Gazeta.Ru", the TV Channel should not be exempted from responsibility in spite of the fact that the videos were placed with the logos of Russian mass media.

An employee of the "Lifenews.ru" said that "the sum of the claimed compensation will be high enough, since the illegal use of video materials was aimed to deceive a huge audience" and promoted to "damaging the business reputation" of the above Russian media. Now, the lawyers of the resource are preparing the respective suits.
