Suspect of attacking human rights activist Karastelyov released under recognizance not to leave
The person suspected of attacking Vadim Karastelyov, an expert of the Novorossisk Committee for Human Rights, who is representing the interests of disfavoured militiaman Alexei Dymovskiy, is at large.
According to lawyer Marina Dubrovina, who represents Karastelyov's interests, Vladimir Tender had been detained only for resistance to militiamen, and the charge of attacking Karastelyov was not presented to him yet.
In this context, according to the lawyer, the suspect was released under recognizance not to leave, the "Gazeta.Ru" writes.
Meanwhile, Andrea Huber, an employee of the Amnesty International, has stated that Russian authorities should conduct a fast, detailed and fair investigation into the attack on Vadim Karastelyov.
As reported by Alexei Karastelyov, Vadim's son, now the human rights activist moves in a wheelchair. He has his vision degrading, he suffers from headaches and there is a suspicion of a leg crack, as the "Novaya Gazeta" writes.
