Inspectors deny detention of second suspect of attacking human rights activist Karastelyov

The Investigatory Committee refutes information about detention of the second suspect in the case about the attack committed against Vadim Karastelyov, an expert of the Novorossisk Committee on Human Rights, who is representing the interests of former militiaman Alexei Dymovskiy.

Karastelyov himself had reported earlier that two suspects were detained on his case.

According to his story, the second suspect was detained in the administrative order, and now his attraction is decided to criminal liability under Article 115 ("Deliberate causing light harm to one's health"), the "Rosbalt" reports. The human rights activist said that the name of the second detainee is Konstantin, but he does not know so far who that Konstantin is and what he was doing apart from attacking Karastelyov.

According to the ICPO, an earlier convicted local resident was detained hot on the trail on the beating case, who confessed that he had beaten Karastelyov "because of personal enmity", the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.

Let us remind you that on March 2 a criminal case was opened on the fact of the attack on Karastelyov under the article of "deliberate causing of light harm to one's health entailing a short-term health frustration, accomplished on hooligan motives". Vadim Karastelyov believes that his attackers in Novorossisk wanted to kill him. According to his story, it is proved by the fact that they hit his head, and "if they had not been frightened off, they would have finished him."

Vadim Karastelyov demands re-qualification of the criminal case into another article and has already filed a respective application to the Prosecutor's Office.
