Grozny residents inform about two non-reported terror acts

Residents of the city of Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, report about two explosions, which happened, when the delegation of the UK Parliament, headed by Lord by Frank Judd was visiting the republic. However, local law enforcement bodies assert that there were no accidents in Grozny during these days.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by residents of the Staropromyslovskiy District of Grozny that the explosions happened late at night on February 17 on the highway running to the centre of the capital.

In particular, a resident of this district Akhyad by name told the correspondent that initially he heard one explosion, accompanied by sub-machine gun turns, and then, some time later, another strong explosion took place. "People say that two UAZ vans with military servicemen or militiamen were blown up. At first, someone blew up a land mine under one of the vans, and later, when militiamen arrived, another explosion was accomplished. They also say that there were casualties and victims, but how many persons suffered - nobody knows," said the source.

"There were no serious accidents in Grozny recently. Anyway, I have no data to this end," a source in the Chechen militia told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
