Makhachkala resident who disappeared nine months ago was in SIZO all this time
Galib Muvlanov, 24, a resident of Dagestan, who disappeared nine months ago in Makhachkala, is in the local SIZO (pre-trial isolation facility). According to his advocate, the preliminary investigation is over. Muvlanov is accused of encroaching on the life of law enforcers and illegal storage and manufacture of explosives.
Akifa Muvlanovа, the detainee's mother, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about the events nine months ago. According to her story, Galib was kidnapped by "certain persons in masks", but his relatives learnt about it only several days after the kidnapping.
According to Ms Muvlanovа, militia refused to give any comments on the incident and did not let the mother to see her son.
"I haven't seen him for nine months," Akifa said. For this time, Galib had two advocates. "His first advocate was horrified when he saw my son: he was so severely beaten that there was no live place on him," she has explained.
She asserts that law enforcers forced her son to confess of the crimes he never committed. "My boy is a true believer - he would not offend a fly; and they 'hang' murders and participation in terror acts on him," said Akifa.
During all this time, Galib Muvlanov managed to make one call to his wife. He told her the following: "They goof on us here: they drive needles under our nails; put bags over our heads; throw on the floor in groups of five-six and beat and kick. But I'm still alive."
Until now, Muvlanov was presented no official charges. "They say: soon you'll face the trial and know everything there: your advocate will tell you everything. But the trial is postponed all the time," says the detainee's mother.
As of today, according to new Galib's advocate, the preliminary investigation is over; now, the case should be approved by the public prosecutor and sent to the court. The defendant is accused of encroaching on the life of law enforcers and illegal storage and manufacture of explosives.
The advocate meets his client in the course of investigatory actions. He asserts that Muvlanov had given his confessions before he took the case. "Now, he has completely rejected his earlier evidences," the advocate has emphasized.
