Moscow GUVD refutes rumours about wounded OMON fighters in Dagestan
Victor Biryukov, head of the Department for Information and PR of the GUVD (Chief Interior Department) of the city of Moscow, has refuted information that several fighters of Moscow OMON (special-purpose militia unit) were wounded in a skirmish in the Untsukul District of Dagestan.
It was reported earlier that at night on Wednesday, February 17, unidentified persons shelled an OMON unit in the Untsukul District of Dagestan and wounded two of its fighters.
However, according to the official spokesman of the GUVD, there are no wounded persons among Moscow OMON fighters. According to his version, fighters from another OMON unit, named "Zubr" (Auroch) and also operating within the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) were wounded, as the "Interfax" writes.
