Yaganov: law enforcers, not NGOs, shall fight extremism in KBR
In the opinion of Ibragim Yaganov, leader of the public organization "Khasse" of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), there is no threat to peace and accord; and what happens in the republic is a normal political process.
Let us remind you that on February 3 Anzor Shakhmurzov, leader of the regional branch of the political party "Right Cause", said that the aggravation of the political situation and interethnic relations stems from that fact that this year the president's term in service expires. "Opponents want to demonstrate that somebody fails to cope with something," Mr Shakhmurzov said. In his opinion, Federal Law No. 131 on local self-governance in Russia has become a tool of political struggle in Kabardino-Balkaria.
Mr Yaganov rejected all the charges that he is kindling an interethnic conflict.
In his opinion, the compromise with the Balkar party is in giving back all the land plots to everyone - those who raise no cattle, will give them into rent, until they get animals. And if it happens that Balkars have less land, they could be given some from the state reserve fund.
Mr Yaganov believes that creation of the Conciliatory Commission has no serious grounds. "We have power bodies to deal with it, and the deputy corps. If we solve such vital issues at the level of society, let us then dismiss the parliament; what do we need it for?" said the "Khasse" leader. In his opinion, the parliament is able to count how many people live in the republic, how much land it has, and distribute it proportionally.
