Residents of Kalmykia: militiamen and doctors are most corrupted
Residents of Kalmykia think, and social polls support their conclusions, that STSI (State Traffic Safety Inspectorate) employees, militiamen, and workers of medical and educational establishments are most corrupted in their republic. It was declared on January 28 by Prime Minister Vladimir Sengleev at the government's sitting.
According to the polling, held by the Kalmyk Institute of Complex Studies of Arid Territories, 61.6 percent of respondents named the STSI to be the most corrupted agency of the republic.
Almost every second respondent (48.6 percent) named medical institutions as runner-ups in the corruption list, flowed by the MIA - 41 percent, educational establishments - 40.2 percent, courts - 25.6 percent, bodies of the prosecutor's office - 17.8 percent, law enforcement authorities - 17.6 percent, institutions of local government - 16.6 percent and tax inspectorate - 14.6 percent, as the "Interfax" writes.
The study was undertaken within the 2009 corruption-fighting programme under the order of the government of Kalmykia.
