Poland to deport 20 Georgian illegal aliens per fortnight

According to Konstantin Kavtaradze, plenipotentiary ambassador of Georgia to Poland, who commented the situation with Georgian illegal immigrants, there will be no mass deportation of citizens of Georgia from Poland. He expects that 20 persons will be deported from Poland to Georgia on February 10.

Let us remind you that on January 29 Mr Ambassador said that four thousand citizens of Georgia would be deported from Poland in the near months. According to his version, the Georgian officials admit that their fellow citizens had illegally crossed the Belarusian-Polish border, and then addressed the Polish authorities for political asylum.

"Mass deportation is out of question. Citizens of Georgia filed applications on granting refuge. The Polish party will individually consider every case, and those rejected will be deported. As a rule, it is made twice a month by special charter flights Warsaw-Tbilisi or Krakow-Tbilisi," said Mr Kavtaradze.

The Ambassador's comment was broadcast on air of Georgian TV Channels. The top-ranking diplomat confirmed that about 4000 natives of Georgia had applied for granting the refugee status to the Polish authorities, as reported by the "News-Georgia".

The "Georgia Online" adds that Poland is deporting Georgians by 20 persons every fortnight.

Thus, on January 13, 24 citizens of Georgia were deported from Poland to Georgia by a special charter flight Warsaw-Tbilisi. Among them, there were also participants of the last December incident with the train in Poland, when Russian and Georgian citizens captured a train and demanded to bring them to Strasbourg.
