Court dismisses defendant's lawyer in Nalchik attack case
Today at its regular session, the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria, which considers the case on the attack on Nalchik on October 13, 2005, agreed to the request of one of the defendants and released his advocate from the case.
At the session on Monday, February 1, defendant Azamat Akhkubekov asked the court to make a decision on lawyer Ilias Zhangurazov, with whom he had cancelled a contract, having decided to use another defender.
"The court has decided to release Zhangurazov from further participation in the process," said the court chair Galina Gorislavskaya.
Defendant Anzor Ashev petitioned for excluding of the video record of the operative conversation with him of an UBOP (Organized Crime Combating Unit) agent, issued in the form of a certificate-memorandum, from the evidences on the case. However, the state prosecution asked for some time to prepare their opinion on the petition; therefore, it was not considered, as the "Gazeta.Ru" notes.
