Building of Ingush MIA shelled - civilians suffered

According to Public Prosecutor Yuri Turygin, the today's shelling of the building of the MIA of Ingushetia, located in central Nazran, where, under the latest data, one person was lost also three others wounded, is a militants' reaction to detention of members of illegal armed formations and their helpers.

Let us remind you that today at 8:40 a.m. unidentified persons made grenade launcher shots at the MIA building. It was initially reported that one person was lost and two more wounded.

Later it became known that three persons were wounded. "The casualty and one victim are militiamen, the other two - civilians," the press service of the local Investigatory Department of the ICPO.

The shelling was aimed at the assembly hall in the second level, where usually on Mondays MIA sittings are held (today it was not held). According to Mr Turygin, the attackers opened fire from the distance of 200-300 meters. Several shells got into the building yard, and some reached the housing area, as reported by the ITAR-TASS.

As stated today by Mukhtar Buzurtanov, vice-speaker of the republic's parliament, the today's bombardment of the MIA building in the centre of Nazran is a challenge to law enforcement bodies and the authorities. In his opinion, such daring crime committed in the daytime "became possible because of poor work of law enforcement bodies," the portal "Ingushetia.Org" reports.

Let us remind you that on January 26 in the morning a powerful bomb was detected and subsequently neutralized near the building of the republic's MIA. A grenade launcher, aimed at the bomb, the power of which was estimated as 8 kilos in trotyl equivalent, was also found and dismantled in close proximity.

On that very day in the attic of one of five-storey blocks in Magas, the capital of Ingushetia, two grenade launchers were found. The examination showed that they prepared for fire and aimed at the buildings of the FSB department for Ingushetia and President's administration. The government of Ingushetia was evacuated because of the threat.

Let us note here that in January several counterterrorist operations were conducted in the republic.
