Georgian opposition demands release of political prisoners

Today, a group of the non-parliamentary opposition of Georgia held a march in the Isani-Samgor District of Tbilisi with a demand to release the country's political prisoners.

The action was attended by Zurab Nogaideli, former prime minister and the leader of the "Fair Georgia" Party, leaders of the Conservative Party Kakha Kukava and Zviad Dzidziguri, Koba Davitashvili, chief of the Party of the People, and others.

Oppositionists assert that today Georgia has 49 political prisoners. Participants of the event demand their immediate release. Otherwise, as oppositional leaders have promised, protest actions will cover the whole of Georgia, the "Rosbalt" reports.
