Militia searches spice traders in Chechnya
Chechen drug policemen are conducting a broad-scale preventive operation against the owners of entities, where smoker's mixes (hookah) are used, and trading facilities, where such mixes are sold. It was found out that a number of the mixes used by hookah smokers contain a strong narcotic substance.
If detected, such smoker's mixes will be withdrawn from smoking institutions or trading facilities, while the owners thereof will be warned that in case of further trading in the so-called "spice" they will brought to criminal liability.
Smoker's mixes appeared in Chechnya rather recently. In Grozny, there are not only shops and kiosks trading in hookah and smoker's mixes to them, but also the facilities, where visitors can smoke hookah. Local clergy are disapproving the use of smoker's mixes, although the use of such mixes was widespread in the East since ancient times.
