Moscow authorities are ready to stop the march in memory of Markelov and Baburova

The authorities of Moscow have again warned about inadmissibility of the march in memory of lawyer Stanislav Markelov and journalist Anastasia Baburova assassinated a year ago.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that two pickets were coordinated with the Prefecture of the Central Administrative District of Moscow. The first picket will start at 6:45 p.m. Moscow time opposite No. 4 in Petrovskiy Boulevard. At 8:00 p.m., the second picket will start near the monument to Griboedov in Chistye Prudy.

"At the same time, the government of Moscow finds it necessary to once again warn the organizers and participants that should the coordination of the pickets be used for any non-sanctioned marches, demonstrations or other public actions, the law enforcement bodies will act in strict conformity with Russian legislation," the "Interfax" quotes the Mayoralty spokesman.

Today, anti-fascists, human rights activists, NGO activists, media workers and ordinary Muscovites will bring flowers to No. 1 in the Prechistenka Street, where the murder was committed last year. People will light candles in memory of Stanislav Markelov and Anastasia Baburova.

The picketers want to walk from the Petrovskiy to Chistoprudny Boulevards without any political symbols and flags of parties and movements and hope that the city authorities will not prevent it. They will only keep photos of the casualties in their hands. The protesters will call the authorities to solve the resonant crime and severely punish the culprits. Besides, they will demand from the officials to be more active in resisting neo-Nazis, as the "Echo Moskvy" Radio reports.
