Armenia's CC finds Armenian-Turkish Protocols constitutional

According to the decision of the Constitutional Court (CC) of Armenia passed in the closed session the Armenian-Turkish Protocols were found conformant with the Constitution.

According to the CC's Chairman Gagik Arutyunyan, the decision comes into force from the moment of announcement and is not subject to any challenge. When it was read out, shouts were heard from the audience: "Traitors!", "You are not Armenians!"

The CC started the hearing on the conformity of the Protocols to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia earlier today; and the open session lasted for 10 minutes, then, the judges continued their debates in the closed mode.

All the nine judges of the CC were present, and Judge of the CC Vladimir Ovannisyan was the main speaker. Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan was present as representative of the President of Armenia.

According to previous arrangements, after signing, the Protocols will go to ratification by national parliaments.
