Dagestan resident complains of beating and militiamen's demand to change evidences
Magomed Gadjiev, a resident of Makhachkala, who was beaten by militiamen and is now at the Republic's Traumatology Hospital with plural body bruises, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today that the inspector wants him to change evidences.
According to Mr Gadjiev, he was tortured in one of the buildings of the Makhachkala GOVD (City Interior Department), demanding to confess of his participation in IAFs (illegal armed formations).
After beating, Gadjiev was brought to the hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan. There, doctors decided to hospitalize him immediately to the Traumatology Hospital. His attending physician there said that Gadjiev had arrived in extremely grave condition. "He had plural bruises of his body, massive haematomas all over, which caused the second-degree traumatic shock," said the doctor.
Magomed Gadjiev said that on January 9 he was visited by an inspector from the Dakhadaev District, who demanded from him to refuse from his previous evidences and to state that he had been beaten by unknown persons.
In their turn, the MIA of Dagestan, the GOVD of Makhachkala and the ROVD (District Interior Unit) of the Dakhadaev District told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they had no information about the incident.
