Failed building in Georgia kills three persons
In Tbilisi, on January 8, the human wreck in the collapsed building of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia made three persons - the workers killed by the ruins. According to rescuers, there were four persons inside the building at the moment.
They told journalists that the search of the fourth worker was underway under the ruins, as the ITAR-TASS reports.
Temur Grigalashvili, head of the local administration Isani-Samnogi, refrained from comments on possible reasons of the tragedy. To the question whether the building could have collapsed because the foundation was damaged by subsoil waters, he answered that "experts should give their conclusion on the point."
The building that earlier housed the Department of the National Guards of the Ministry of Defence on October 27, 2009, was delivered to the Public Registry. It was planned to place the central Registry's office and the Tbilisi registration service there.
