RwB: Azerbaijan censors the Internet

The organization named "Reporters without Borders" (RwB) has put Azerbaijan on the list of countries practicing censorship on the Internet.

According to the organization, the number of countries, where Internet is censored grows every year and doubled in 2009.

According to the RwB, among the most active censors are China, Iran, Thailand and South Korea. In its report, the organization gives Azerbaijan an example, where two bloggers were sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment for their video clips with satire on their country's political elite, the "News.am" writes.

The "Echo Moskvy" Radio notes that next mid-March the RwB plans to hold an action "against enemies of the Internet"; however, the venue and format are not known yet.
