RSO President suggests revision of frontier regime with Georgia
As stated by Eduard Kokoity, President of the Republic of South Ossetia, at the press conference in Tskhinvali, the South-Ossetia-Georgian border should be toughly closed. According to his version, this decision stems from the instable situation in Georgia and threat of provocations.
Mr Kokoity said that Georgia "scales up its military presence on the border of the Leningorsk District." "Therefore, I stand for properly closed border, first of all, for good safety of our citizens," said the President.
According to his story, the passage regime in the Leningorsk District will be revised depending on particular situation, as the IA "Res" reports.
"The USA and a number of other countries are re-equipping Georgia; and it has quickly restored its military potential," the "YUGA.Ru" portal quotes Mr Kokoity as saying.
Earlier, an opportunity of new warfare was emphasized by the Russian Ministry of Defence. General-Colonel Anatoly Nogovitsyn, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, could not exclude another Georgia's attempt "to restore its constitutional order" in the territory of South Ossetia and Abkhazia; that is, to conduct a similar operation to the one undertaken last August.
"Refugees from Georgia and Chechnya tried to leave Poland to stay in Western Europe", "In Georgia, electricity supply to refugees from South Ossetia will resume after payment of debts", "In Georgia, refugees from South Ossetia protest against electricity cut-offs".
