Evkurov: fight against corruption in Ingushetia is fruitless
The war on corruption in Ingushetia is a failure because of "dishonesty and indecency" of certain judges, President Yunus-Bek Evkurov has stated. At the same time, Vladimir Ustinov, Plenipotentiary of Russian President in the Southern Federal District (SFD), praises the efforts of the President of Ingushetia who "actively works with the population" and treats him as a positive example of how to act in order to make the "state power work for the society."
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 2 Yunus-Bek Evkurov formulated his primary goals in the republic as preservation of his team and eradication of corruption.
"There are no results... When the Prosecutor's Office, the Investigatory Committee and ordinary operative agents are digging day and night and find materials... and then it all goes to the court, for some reason the latter release everybody," Mr Evkurov said in his interview published in the official website of the Republic of Ingushetia.
He has added that on this occasion "he had a meeting with the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia, found understanding and, I think, in the near future we'll be rendered help."
"In old Soviet times, people who stole hundreds of millions of budget money were subject to death; and here the judge lets them free after punishing with a fine of 50, 60, 100 or 300 thousand roubles and, certainly, it is tragic, it's dangerous," the President believes.
