Power agents report prevention of huge terror act in Chechnya
The law enforcement bodies of the Chechen Republic assert that they have managed to prevent a big subversive and terrorist act. Last Saturday, on December 12, in the foothill Kurchaloy District of the republic, a militants' hideout with ammunition and explosives was liquidated.
"Near the village of Dzhaglargi, Kurchaloy District, in a large forest, operative agents found a big bandits' hiding place, which contained 20 grenade launcher shots, two shells of different calibres, one was already charged with an electric detonator for remote triggering, components for making bombs - two plastic containers with four and 1.5 litres of explosive, two grenades and about 200 cartridges to firearms," said a source from a law enforcement body.
In his opinion, the liquidation of this hideout allows asserting that power agents have managed to prevent a resonant act of terrorism or a subversive sortie of the armed underground.
It is not the first militants' hideout liquidated in Chechnya from the start of December. On December 10, in the foothill Urus-Martan District of the republic near Shalazhi village, militiamen found a whole arsenal of weapons, including two grenade launchers, several artillery shells and two kilos of explosive.
One day before that, in the territory of railway station in Zavodskoy District of Grozny operative agents liquidated a hideout, where they found five grenades, 13 fuses to them, two grenade launcher shots and more than 850 cartridges to small arms.
