Bus with peaceful people was fired in Gali district

One woman was killed and other two women were wounded as a result of the fire attack on a bus in the Gali district of Abkhazia.

As it was reported at the Gali district administration, the incident occurred in the morning on October 9 in the village of Rechkhi, the Gali district. This settlement is situated in the Security Zone controlled by the CIS Peacekeeping Forces.

Passengers of the bus, who survived by a miracle, say five armed men in masks went on the country road and opened fire at the bus. But the bus driver did not stop and saved the other passengers.

Law-enforcement agencies of Abkhazia instituted criminal proceedings. The Abkhazian party regards the incident as a terrorist act aimed at destabilizing the situation in Abkhazia and imposes all the responsibility for the fire at the bus with peaceful people on Georgian bands dispatched from Georgia's Zugdidi district.
