Defendant Kudaev feels bad at Nalchik attack trial

On December 3, at the court session dealing with the attack on Nalchik in October 2005, the state of health of defendant Rasul Kudaev got sharply worsened. According to eyewitnesses he had bloody vomit. The session was interrupted for more than two hours. Doctors were invited to Kudaev and diagnosed: stomach ulcer under question.

In conclusion, doctors said that, despite bad state of health, Rasul Kudaev can take part in the trial.

According to lawyer Magomed Abubakarov, today Kudaev will be examined by SIZO (pre-trial facility) doctors. Further, he plans to insist that Kudaev should be examined also by some neutral doctors from aside.

Let us remind you that on November 25 a picket was held near the building of the parliament of Kabardino-Balkaria by defendants' relatives. According to its organizers, the action aimed at drawing attention to the defendants' health condition and insisting on rendering them professional medical aid.

According to Mr Abubakarov, many defendants are sick, but lack the necessary treatment.

"Besides, they deliberately place TB patients into the cells with healthy defendants with the aim to infect them," said the advocate.
