The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ruslan Keshev was beaten on November 30 by several unidentified persons who rushed into the office of the organization. His nose and arm were broken, and he had other traumas.

Today, the press service of the UVD (Interior Division) for Nalchik said that the militia of Kabardino-Balkaria is trying to find the culprits who beat Ruslan Keshev.

"The victims could not describe the attackers. However, as they said, they acted in the interests of destructive forces," said an UVD source. According to his story, the victims were rendered due medical aid; and there is no threat to their life, as the newspaper "Severny Kavkaz" (Northern Caucasus) writes.

The statement of the "Khasse" runs that on the day of the attack the "Khasse" and the "Circassian Congress" held a meeting of activists on the occasion of the rally of the Adyg people scheduled for December 5.

"The sitting of activists was appointed on 5:30 p.m. in the conference hall of the "Taxi Fleet". At about 5:10 p.m. the office of the Public Movement "Khasse" was attacked by a group of sportsmen and criminal elements headed by a notorious criminal authority Alisag Shogentsukov, also known as Alikos," runs the statement.

As a result of the attack, not only Ruslan Keshev, but also activist Elberd Bora was beaten.

Earlier, the public organizations "Khasse" and "Circassian Congress" disseminated the information that the Adyg society would hold a rally on December 5, 2009, in support of earlier demands to cancel Republic's Laws Nos. 12 and 13 of 2005 and all the amendments thereto, concerning the intra-village territories. The activists of these organizations call the national authorities to publicly and openly start returning lands to the villages, who had traditionally possessed them, and to call to account all the guilty officials and sack them.
