No Azerbaijani citizens among "Neva-Express" casualties

On November 29, the General Consulate of Azerbaijan in St Petersburg reported that there were no citizens of Azerbaijan among those who perished or suffered in the explosion of the "Neva-Express" fast train.

"Novruz Babaev, the only Azerbaijani who suffered in the train accident is a Russian citizen," said the Consulate.

Let us remind you that on November 28 Governor of St Petersburg Valentina Matvienko said that three foreigners suffered in the "Neva-Express" accident - citizens of Belgium, Italy and Azerbaijan.

The "Day.az" Agency reports that on November 30 General Consul Gudsi Osmanov plans to visit the hospital, where Mr Babaev is treated.

The "Trend" Agency was told at the Railway Hospital of St Petersburg that the suffered Azerbaijani would be discharged in about a week.

A source in the city administration of Tver said that according to the latest data 26 persons perished in the accident. According to the General Prosecutor's Office, 60 persons have suffered. Earlier, the Internet media gave the figure of 120 victims. In total, at the moment of accident, the "Neva-Express" train had over 660 passengers.
