Russian cities hold rallies in support of Major Dymovskiy

Novorossisk and a number of other cities of Russia have hosted rallies in support of Militia Major Alexei Dymovskiy who has revealed, in his Internet video appeal to Premier Putin, facts of abuse and corruption in law enforcement bodies of the city.

In Novorossisk, Dymovskiy's city, the rally took place in the Oktiabrskaya Square in downtown. "Major Dymovskiy spoke, and the people who suffered from law enforcement bodies. About one hundred persons from Novorossisk, Krasnodar, Gelenzhik and other towns and settlements of the Krasnodar Territory took part in the event," said Vadim Karastelyov, Mr Dymovskiy's official representative and Novorossisk human rights activist.

Today in Moscow, a rally-concert was held towards reforming the militia. The participants called the authorities to immediately start reforms in law enforcement bodies. About 250 persons came to the action, including members and activists of various political and public organizations, as the "Interfax" reports.

Rallies against militia malversations also took place in St Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Ekaterinburg, the "Kasparov.Ru" Agency reports.
