25 persons lost in "Neva-Express" train accident

On Friday, November 27, at 9:34 p.m. Moscow time, at the railway section Alyoshinka-Uglovka in the Novgorod Region, an accident with the passenger train No. 166 Moscow-St Petersburg ("Neva-Express") took place, as a result of which four train cars got derailed and at least 25 persons were lost.

According to the latest data, the count of casualties was 39, with 102 persons injured, as the "Gazeta.Ru" writes. However, Elena Chernova, deputy head of the information department of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies, has confirmed the death of 25 persons, as the "Voice of Russia" said.

According to a source in law enforcement bodies, a terror act could be the reason, as the "Interfax" reports.
