Rostov Region is unemployment top among mining regions
The Rostov Region is in the lead by the unemployment level among all Russian mining territories. This was stated on November 26 by Lydia Tkachenko, head of the department of the state service for population employment of the Rostov Region, speaking to the Supervisory Board for Development of Mining Territories.
According to her version, the level of registered unemployment there is essentially higher than the average for the region, and in some areas it exceeds the average Russian level of 2.7 percent of the economically capable population). In Donetsk it is the highest - at 3.9 percent, in Krasny Sulin - 3 percent, in Gukov - 3.2 percent, and in Novoshakhtinsk - 2.9 percent.
By the start of this year, the number of paid-off workers from 116 organizations located in the mining territories made 3700 persons.
By November 2009, information was received from 65 employers, who plan to sack 2196 more workers. However, Lydia Tkachenko assures that there are enterprises, for example, the Krasnosulin Metallurgy Works, which just dismiss people at their own will. And her service knows many such cases.
