Court sees no law violations in picketers' actions
Ms Chechenova, M. S., Magistrate Judge of Judicial District No. 8 of the city of Nalchik, having considered the materials of the case related to the six persons, detained yesterday for their picket and accused of an administrative offence, has ruled to stop the case because of absence of any offence attributes in their actions.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 25, at about 11 a.m., relatives of the defendants figuring in the case on the events of October 13, 2005, rallied near the parliament for a picket aiming to draw attention of the authorities to non-provision of medical aid to defendants.
However, militiamen prevented the picket, saying that it was non-sanctioned; they took away the posters from the women. Six person, including advocate Magomed Abubakarov, who tried to explain militiamen that the action was legitimate, were brought to OVD (Interior Division) No. 1, where administrative protocols were drawn up on the detainees and delivered to the court.
The court session took place in the evening on November 25. The court retired for consultations and announced its ruling today at 3 p.m., having completely acquitted the picketers.
