Moscow demands that Georgia stops provocations against Russian citizens

The Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs demands from Georgian authorities to stop unprovoked, according to the MFA's statement, detentions of citizens of the Russian Federation.

"We again address Georgian authorities with a demand to stop their cynical arbitrariness in relation to our citizens," Andrei Nesterenko, official spokesman of the Russia's MFA, said on November 24 and reminded about the case of Russian Pavel Bliadze, detained by Georgian authorities.

The spokesman of the MFA has called the international public, human rights entities and organizations of the Georgian community in Russia to react to this situation.

According to the Russian party, resigned lieutenant colonel Pavel Bliadze arrived to Georgia in May this year to visit his relatives, but when he was crossing the border, Georgian special agencies, according to the Russian MFA, suggested him to confess that he was "Moscow's agent". He refused, and a month later he was arrested, and a pistol was planted on him. Subsequently, the ex-lieutenant colonel was convicted to five years of imprisonment. Now, Mr Bliadze's advocate is going to appeal against the verdict, as reported by the "Newsinfo".

However, in the opinion of the Georgian party, Bliadze is guilty of illegal purchase and bearing his firearms.
