Public board of the Ministry of Nationalities of North Ossetia sees social inequality as one of roots of extremism
On November 19, the sitting of the public board under the Ministry of North Ossetia for Nationalities concluded that social problems and propaganda of violence in the Internet and mass media are among major reasons of extremism.
The public board of the Ministry includes 65 persons representing public organizations, national-cultural centres and religious confessions.
The participants of the sitting noted that prophylaxis of any forms of extremist manifestations is an important factor for preserving social stability in North Ossetia.
According to Arthur Tsallagov, head of one of the ministerial departments, "one of the directions is to form tolerant behaviour among pupils and students and run broad explanatory work with the population."
Social inequality and lack of conditions for applying one's knowledge and received qualification can push a disillusioned young man to extremist actions. This idea was expressed by Ivan Alborov, deputy chair of the All-Ossetian Public Social Movement "Styr Nykhas".
Georgiy Zangionov, a member of the public board and the elder of Dur-Dur village of the Digor District, offered to take off the air completely or shift much later all the films and reports containing scenes of cruelty and violence.
