Examination finds sanity in suspects of organizing explosions in Sochi

The inquiry bodies have finished a complex psycho-psychiatric examination of the suspects of committing terror acts in Sochi, and, according to its conclusions, the defendants were quite responsible for their actions during the incriminated offences.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 28 the Krasnodar Territorial Court sentenced Abdulgani Ganishev, a native of Chechnya, to 14 years of imprisonment for organization of terror acts in Sochi and preparation of explosions in the city of Anapa, Krasnodar Territory. "The aim of terror acts was to cause influence on the authorities to enforce the decision on cancellation of Winter Olympic Games-2014," believes the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.

As reported today by Vladimir Markin, official spokesman of the Investigatory Committee, "a number of additional examinations was conducted, which allowed concluding that the reason of explosion, that took place on July 2, 2008, in a 12-storied apartment block in the Adler District of Sochi and killed two persons, was a hand-made bomb."

"100 persons were recognized to be victims of explosions," the ITAR-TASS quotes Mr Markin as emphasizing.
