In October, 35 suspected militants liquidated in Chechnya
As reported by the United Army Grouping in Northern Caucasus, in October this year, in the course of the special operations conducted in the territory of the Chechen Republic, 35 members of the armed underground were liquidated, and 42 militants and their helper were detained. However, human rights activists are sure that power agents put also people who have nothing to do with the armed underground into the lists of their "trophies".
"During this October, as a result of successful special operations conducted in the territory of the republic, 35 members of illegal armed formations were liquidated; six militants' bases and nine hiding places with weapons and ammunition were found and ruined. 42 participants of the bandit underground and their helper were detained," a source in Chechen power agencies said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to his story, during this period of time, power agents confiscated 37 firearms, seven anti-tank grenade launchers, 30 cartridges to them and more than six thousand cartridges to firearms.
Meanwhile, local human rights activists do not exclude that the list of casualties can include victims of special operations who had nothing to do with militants and their actions.
"I do not believe that all those killed in October in the territory of our republic were participants of armed formations. There are many examples that power agents demonstrated absolutely innocent young people as liquidated participants of the armed resistance," a Chechen human rights activist, who preferred to stay anonymous, said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
