Chechnya to try supposed "turnskin will epaulets"
An employee of the Chechen militia will face justice on charges of complicity to a member of separatists' armed formations. The former militiaman is under a threat of several years in prison.
"The inter-district investigatory division for the city of Grozny of the Investigatory Department for the Chechen Republic of the ICPO is finalizing the inquiry on the case of Tataev, former employee of the republic's MIA, accused of complicity to participants of armed formations," an officer of the Chechen militia said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to the source, the investigation has established that in August this year Tataev rendered assistance to a certain Bataev - a member of Gakaev brothers' armed formation.
"By abusing his service position, Tataev transported Bataev in his service car from Grozny to the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria. The investigation on this case it near its end, and in the near future the materials will go to the court for consideration on the merits," said the source.
