Head of Georgian MFA gives up his Russian citizenship
Grigol Vashadze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, wrote an application addressed to the President of Russia about his refusal from Russian citizenship and sent his Russian passport to Moscow.
"I've already sent an application to President of Russia about my exit from Russian citizenship and attached my Russian passport to it," Mr Vashadze told journalists today.
Thus, as he said, he decided to simplify the task of the Russian party, "since the Russian legislation doesn't assume deprivation of citizenship," the IA "News-Georgia" reports.
The ITAR-TASS confirms, with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, that Grigol Vashadze has sent his Russian passport to the President of the Russian Federation.
