Funeral of composer Alexander Basilaya took place in Tbilisi
Today, on October 10, Georgia said farewell to its well-known composer, artistic director of the popular vocal company "Iveria" Alexander Basilaya, who died on October 3 in Germany from lung cancer.
The farewell ceremony took place in the Big Concert Hall of the Philharmonic Society in Tbilisi. The "Georgia Online" writes that plenty of people came to say goodbye to the composer. Today, he was buried in the Didubi Pantheon of Writers and Public Figures, as the GHN reports.
Alexander Basilaya was born on March 11, 1942. In 1967, he graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatory, the contrabass department. In 1982, he was awarded the title of the Merited Worker of Arts of Georgia.
