Mikhalchenko: Ingush opposition would not address law enforcers on the website attack

Oppositional activists of Ingushetia are not going to address law enforcement bodies in the context of the yesterday's powerful attack on their website, as a result of which its work was completely paralyzed. In the opinion of Lydia Mikhalchenko, editor of the website "Ingushetiyaru.org", there is no sense to address them.

According to her story, President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov has warned her in a recent conversation that he had been approached by the prosecutor's office and FSB, who tried to draw his attention to the work of the site.

"Our site is attacked periodically; in August it lay 'in ruins' for about two days, I think. I don't know the reason of the last powerful attack. I don't argue with power structures; on the contrary, on October 10, when I called to the direct mobile number of President of Ingushetia, he immediately agreed to give an interview; and on that very day asked his press secretary to organize a meeting with me," Lydia Mikhalchenko said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"However, he said at our personal meeting that should the website place extremist materials, then, Magomed Khazbiev, head of the site, would be criminally prosecuted. Besides, he said that he had been addressed by the prosecutor's office and FSB, and they did not like us. I was lucky to get him directly by the phone, even in spite of the fact that our site is oppositional," she has added.

Ms Mikhalchenko has noted that the edition does not address law enforcement bodies in the context of attacks. "Now, the site is working," she explained.

According to Magomed Khazbiev, he is not going to address law enforcement bodies both on the attacks on the site and on the violations at the October 11 elections, which were fixed by him in the presence of journalists and witnesses: he finds it senseless.

"People hate these elections. In Ingushetia, in reality, the turnout was not even 15 percent. What they tell us there about voter turnout is a lie. At first Evkurov said that elections would be open, and I couldn't think that he would use same methods as Zyazikov," Magomed Khazbiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the official data, "Edinaya Rossiya" was a confident winner at elections in Ingushetia. Musa Evloev, Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Ingushetia, said that the voter turnout was 82 percent of all the voters on the lists; of them 72.3 percent gave their votes to "Edinaya Rossiya"; 12.6 percent - to "Spravedlivaya Rossiya"; 5.7 percent - to the LDPR; 5.6 percent - to the CPRF; and 0.8 percent - to the "Yabloko".
