Over fifteen hundred cars detained in Chechnya within the "Automobile" campaign

On October 16, broad-scale operative-preventive actions started in the territory of Chechnya aimed at revealing hijacked cars and those with excessively tinted glasses within the campaign named "Automobile".

Within four days, under this campaign, employees of the STSI (State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, also known in Russia as "GIBDD") detained over fifteen hundred cars with the glasses tinted above all standards. President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has ordered to pay special attention to glass tinting, saying that in most cases such cars are used by criminals for their unobstructed travels across the republic.

According to the data received by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent from a source at the republic's STSI at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya, quite often tinted glasses hide employees of various special agencies. "Nevertheless, we have same rules for everybody, and such drivers will all have to liquidate their excessive tinting," said the militia officer and added that apart from the struggle against tinting more than a hundred cars had been detained and brought to the MIA's penal park.

The time period for the campaign in Chechnya was not yet defined.

At the same time, some drivers complain that certain unfair road policemen make use of the situation and extort bribes under various far-fetched reasons.
