Man killed by fougasse explosion in Chechnya
Law enforcement bodies of Chechnya are establishing the person and circumstances of death of the unknown man, who on October 5 fell victim of an explosion in the mountainous Vedeno District of the republic.
"On October 5, in the outskirt of Dyshni-Vedeno village, Vedeno District, a powerful explosion took place. The militiamen who arrived to the venue found fragments of a man's body scattered around the crater. They also found an electronic watch and batteries to it, and splinters of the bomb," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the on duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya.
"The casualty is not identified yet. An operative-investigatory group is still working in the place of the incident. The circumstances of the explosion are investigated," said the source.
He could not exclude that the man could become a victim of a land mine or blow himself up at an attempt to plant an explosive.
