Evkurov: resignation of Ingushetian government was a must

President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov said that the Prime Minister of the republic will be appointed within two weeks.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the present government of the republic was dismissed today by decree of the President of Ingushetia.

"Within a fortnight I plan to select and appoint a new Premier. The Cabinet will also face changes," the "Interfax" quotes the Ingush leader.

In the opinion of Mr Evkurov, resignation of the government was necessary.

"Resignation of the republic's cabinet of ministers is not a today's idea, but the outcome of all their work. It was a must, as there was no understanding among them on what should be done in the in the interests of social and economic development of Ingushetia," the Russian News Service quotes the President of Ingushetia.

The leader of the republic's opposition Magomed Khazbiev welcomed Evkurov's decision to fire Rashid Gaisanov.

"It's a late decision; however, it's nice of him to make it," Mr Khazbiev said to the "Gazeta.Ru".

Khazbiev also offered "to sue the person who had advised Evkurov to appoint Gaisanov."

"Gaisanov was a protege of Murat Zyazikov, it was his Minister of Economy," the oppositionist has reminded.

He has expressed hope that Evkurov would not appoint the current acting Prime Minister Alexei Vorobyov to the head of the government.

"What is he? Where from? What does he know about Ingushetia? By this appointment Evkurov shows that that there's no worthy Ingush to take the post," Magomed Khazbiev believes.
