Cooperation Council of Turk-language Countries founded in Azerbaijan
Today in Nakhichevan (Azerbaijan) was the last day of the 9th Summit of Turk-Language Countries, which has established a new format of regional cooperation.
Presidents of Azerbaijan - Ilham Aliev, Kazakhstan - Nursultan Nazarbaev, Kyrgyzstan - Kurmanbek Bakiev, Turkey - Abdullah Gul and Vice-Premier of Turkmenistan Khydyr Saparaliev have signed an agreement on creating the Cooperation Council of Turk-language Countries (ССТС). The only Turk-language country, which has not joined the document and did not take part in the Summit, was Uzbekistan.
The Summit was over in the afternoon on October 3. Workers on independent media were not admitted even to its protocol part. A detailed report on the event was shown only late at night by the state television of Azerbaijan.
