Azerbaijan: at bloggers' trial, defence accuses police of breaking secrecy of inquiry

Today, the Sabail District Court of the capital of Azerbaijan, chaired by Judge Araz Guseinov, continued considering the case of young bloggers Adnan Gadjizade and Emin Milli, accused of hooliganism and inflicting bodily injuries. Witnesses went on presenting their evidences.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that Farid Guseinov, a policeman of the 39th station of the Sabail District Interior Division, said that on the day of the incident in the "Lebanon" restaurant (on July 8) nobody addressed this station with any complaints. Thus, Guseinov has confirmed the version of the investigation that the bloggers were brought to the other, the 9th police station, and did not come with a complaint on the attack on them to the 39th station.

However, Guseinov got confused, when advocate Elton Guliev showed him the photos, where Gadjizade and Milli could be seen in the yard of 39th station. At first the witness confirmed that the yard of the 39th station was in the photo, but then denied it.

Besides, the defendants' advocates demanded to investigate the fact of appearance of Vusal Mamedov's and Babek Guseinov's interview in the website "Day.Az". They told the court that they know nothing about this site. In the opinion of the defence, it is an evidence of the fact that the "leakage" to media was made by the investigation, which is a breach of the inquiry secrecy.
