Dagestan: STSI policemen shoot dead inspector of Prosecutor's Office
Today, at about 4 p.m., Gamzat Musaev, senior inspector of the Khasavyurt Prosecutor's Office, was assassinated. Eyewitnesses of the tragedy assert that he was shot dead by the employees of the STSI (State Traffic Safety Inspectorate), who were on duty at the entrance post to Makhachkala.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that inspector Musaev left Khasavyurt for Makhachkala with the aim to get acquainted with the criminal case he was in charge of. Some of the witnesses say that Musaev failed to stop at the STSI post (known as "Northern Post"); therefore, militiamen opened fire to kill.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the reception ward of the Republic's Traumatology Hospital that Musaev was brought to them in the state of biological death. Now, inspectors interrogate the on duty personnel of this medical establishment. Getting comments at the press service of the MIA of Dagestan was not possible, as nobody took the phone.
The Investigatory Department of the ICPO of the Russian Federation for Dagestan has confirmed the information about the incident. According to their spokesman, the inspector died after the employees of the STSI had opened fire on his car when he ignored their demand to stop.
As reported by Vladimir Markin, official spokesman of the ICPO, the inspector died from the received gunshot wounds, as the "Interfax" writes.
