Georgian opposition moves ultimatum to Saakashvili because of early relief of Girgvliani murderers

Today in Georgia, the members of the oppositional movement "November 7" have held a protest action against the early relief of four policemen, who in January 2006 beat bank employee Sandro Girgvliani to death.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the policemen convicted or murdering Girgvliani were set free a couple of weeks ago under the pardon decree, signed by President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili.

The "Interfax" reports that the protesters have moved an ultimatum to the authorities demanding to set up, before October 14, a special parliamentary inquiry commission for clearing out on what grounds the President had pardoned policemen-assassins.

Should the parliament fail to set up the commission before the deadline, the movement plans to pass over to resolute actions. This was stated by Dzhaba Dzhishkariani, spokesman for the "November 7", the "Georgia Online" reports.
