FSB: three militants liquidated in Dagestan

Three militants, one of the leaders of the armed underground among them, were killed in the course of an operative-combat action today in the morning in the Kizlyar District of Dagestan. This was reported by the Department of the FSB (DFSB) of Russia for Dagestan.

One of the casualties was identified today as Abdullah Saadulaev (Daud). "Among the militants, he performed the role of the supreme Shariat judge; he was the 'right hand' of Magomed Umalatov - the so-called 'Amir of Dagestan'. Actually, Saadulaev was the second person in the system of the Dagestan terrorist underground. The second casualty was identified as Sultan Magomedov, 29. The person of the third one is now established," a spokesman of the Russian DFSB for Dagestan said to the "Interfax".

Letters of threats were found among Saadulaev's belongings, addressed to businessmen of Dagestan, as reported by the spokesman. "They contain threats and extort sums at a rate of 100,000 euros and up," the "Gazeta.Ru" quotes the FSB source.

According to the DFSB, militants have switched over to this way of financing after liquidation in Dagestan in 2007 of one of financiers of the terrorist underground, the "al-Qaeda" emissary Abu-Khavs, the "Infox.ru" writes.
