Chechnya: a serviceman killed and four other wounded in a clash

On August 23, in the course of a combat clash that burst out in the Shali District of Chechnya, a soldier of the Internal Troops of Russian MIA was lost, and four militaries were wounded.

"Yesterday, at about 2 p.m., in the vicinity of Duba-Yurt village, Shali District, combat clash took place. Militaries of a unit from the Internal Troops, who conducted a reconnaissance and search action, confronted a bandit grouping. In the course of a skirmish with bandits, one contract soldier was killed; his four colleagues were wounded and hospitalized," the "Caucasian Knot"  correspondent was told at the republic's Military Commandant's Office.

The source could not say anything about the number of militants and their possible losses.

The previous combat clash of power agents with members of the armed underground was registered in Chechnya on August 19. Then, the Chechen MIA reported that in the mountainous Vedeno District, near Shamil-Khutor village, in the course of a special operation, four militants who rendered armed resistance were liquidated.

Meanwhile, some residents of the Vedeno District assert that the casualties were the young men, earlier kidnapped by law enforcers and then presented as militants "for proper reporting." It is rather difficult to verify this statement; however, there were cases already, when  detainees were killed and then presented as militants
