Internet disseminates video with Delimkhanov's threats addressed to Chechen human rights defenders

The platform YouTube has placed a video clip quoting a news report of the Chechen television, in which TV in which Adam Delimkhanov, Deputy of the Russian State Duma, speaking in the Chechen language, calls human rights activists of Chechnya to account, since, according to his story, they "help criminals-militants."

After an introduction, made by a television announcer, where she accused destructive forces of "destabilizing the situation" and "breaching the public accord", Mr Delimkhanov appeared in the screen, surrounded by armed people; they all spoke Chechen.

"…There are people, who name themselves human rights activists, who help these shaitans, these criminals-rebels, work on them and pursue their deeds and their policy…, hey run different conversations…, but I know the spirits in the militia, in our society; I know what ordinary people are talking…, they say that statements of these people…, of that very Aushev and others, in general, what they say and do, their crimes are not less, than of those militants who are in the forests," Adam Delimkhanov was saying.

"These people (human rights activists) mislead and deceive people by their words. But they'll not deceive our citizens. The truth and justice will always win. Here, our fighters, commanders, our guys are asking me, what these people (human rights activists) want. I answer that we don't put a penny on them," the Russian MP continued.

"Lord grant, and we'll bring to responsibility all those who help the evil. Each of them, whether a Chechen, an Ingush or someone another, should know that they will answer for their words…," Mr Delimkhanov has concluded.

The video does not specify, who and where made the record, but the comments explain that it was put on air by television on July 4, 2009, that is, 11 days before the kidnapping and murder of human rights defender Natalia Estemirova.
