OSCE representative waits for explanations of incident on Armenian-Azerbaijan front line from Armenian leadership

The Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Andrzej Kasprzyk, is inclined to demand from the Armenian military governing bodies some explanations of the incident that took place on the line of contiguity of the Armenian and Azerbaijan troops on August 19. He reported it on Wednesday.

Kasprzyk noticed the day before there had been some shots during the monitoring of one of the front sections so he had decided to stop the monitoring. ?It was difficult to make out from which side the shots had come. During the monitoring I was on the Azerbaijan side, so I already have their opinion. Tomorrow I am going to Yerevan to get the explanations of the Armenian party?, said Kasprzyk.

The Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office stressed the incident was quite serious, considering the fact that the parties of the conflict were to guarantee the security of the observers' mission.

Kasprzyk said he wanted to continue monitorings, the nearest one will be held in the end of August.

The monitoring was held not far from the village of Agdam in the Tovuz region of Azerbaijan, 380 km west from Baku.
